Della's presence in the A.O. Noyes home must have represented a great disruption in the "marital bliss" shared by Amos and Anna and more likely Della's procreation was evidence for a pre-existing marital rift. Della was never married.

Donald wrote in 1970: "I left North Dakota with my brother Jack in June 1914 for Canada. We stopped in Edmonton one day, then went on to Edson and the next day we started for Grande Prairie--242 miles of swamp and muskeg--roads so bad that the first class mail went out by pack train so two tenderfeet had to learn a lesson. I started with a brand new pair of shoes and had a blister on my heel in the first ten miles but we kept going and arrived in Grande Prairie thirteen days later. Jack had some crops to look after and he soon left for home. I swore I would not walk over the road again so I stayed. I really have no great regrets. I farmed in Grande Prairie until ten years ago, then came here. It is a nice place to retire but our two most wonderful lakes are fast becoming Lake Eries--pollution and more pollution. Just how so-called civilized people can proceed to destroy their environment is hard to see now that they know what they are doing."spouse: Pickle, Ann (1905 - )

From a letter in 1970: " When I grew up it was a sin to be idle so I acquired a work habit that is just as strong as being an alcoholic; I have not learned to be idle except for a very short time and then I must be at something. My oldest son owns and runs the appliance business but I am there most every day. We just finished wiring a home for electric heat. I have worked at electric work for a long time--built lines and other work. It is very interesting. We live in the Lower Yellowstone River Valley. It is irrigated. Now we are having oil wells that are good producers."spouse: Walworth, Viola (1901 - )
